The Armenian Service is one of the four language services in VOA's Eurasia Division. Offering daily broadcasts to Armenia since 1951, the Service now broadcasts a 30 minute program at 1600 UTC every day. The program features a world news bulletin followed by a news related segment with newsroom correspondent reports, background stories, stringer reports and interviews from Washington D.C., Yerevan, Paris, New York and Los Angeles. The Armenian Service staff also brings to its audience special coverage and interviews featuring Armenian-Americans and their communities.

REGULARLY SCHEDULED FEATURES INCLUDE:

HEALTH & MEDICINE, Mondays
Features information on current developments in the field of medicine and health. Special interviews are included, highlighting the research and contributions of prominent Armenians in the health industry in the United States.

SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY, Tuesdays
This program keeps listeners informed of technological advances in the US and the world in a wide variety of fields, also highlighted by interviews with American Armenian scientists and technicians on their work and research activities.

BUSINESS & ECONOMY, Wednesdays
The newest developments in the US and world economy are featured in this program. Topics of interest include economic indexes, business and trade establishments. Prominent Armenian businessmen and economists of Armenian extraction are asked for their input.

WOMEN'S ISSUES, Thursdays
This program presents reports and backgrounders related to the lives of women in the United States and the world. It also features interviews on women’s issues in Armenia and the importance of women’s role in the social and political development of post-Soviet Armenia.

ENVIRONMENTAL NEWS, Fridays
This program deals with environmental issues in the US and the world. It presents the latest information on environmental hazards, pollution, and their effects on humans.

YOUTH SHOW AND MUSIC PROGRAM, Saturdays
Provides features on education, work opportunities and leisure activities of youth in America. The music program which follows the youth show features prominent US pop artists and music related news.

ARMENIAN NEWS ROUNDUP, Sundays
This segment presents Armenian related news in the US and around the world. This program consists of Armenian American newspaper reviews, press releases of major US Armenian organizations, coverage of important Diaspora events, and presents profiles of prominent Armenians in America.
